Items to
Bring: Please don't bring anything that you would be concerned about losing because there is
no secure place to keep things either in the school or in the vans we are taking. WorkCamp
does not allow electronic equipment such as CD Players, Radios, Tape Players, etc.
Air mattress
Sleeping bag and pillow (small pillow for Sr. High)
Flashlight
Hat or visor
Insect repellent
Sunscreen
Wash kit including soap and shampoo
Bath towels and shower shoes
Swimsuit
Laundry bag (your work clothes will smell)
Poncho or raincoat
Sturdy shoes or work boots
Working shorts or long jeans (Two pairs for working)
Working shirts (they will get dirty and/or paint on them)
Casual clothes for non-working hours e.g. evening program or free time

Tools to Bring:
Bring what you are comfortable working with but as a
minimum each youth should bring:
Caulking gun
Adjustable wrench
Hammer
Masking tape (1 roll) (only Elizabeth City)
Paint roller covers (3 per person) (only Elizabeth City)
Paint scraper and/or wire brush
Safety goggles
Small, medium, or large paintbrush (only Elizabeth City)
Standard screwdriver
Work gloves
The church will provide other items such as paint rollers, paint trays, masking
tape, & drop cloths.
Adults with medium or more experience in certain areas such as carpentry should bring the
typical tools they use e.g. power tools, framing square, tape measure, level, etc....

Financial
Responsibility:
The registration fee is $399. Each workcamper is
responsible for a $75 deposit. The youth will raise money via the annual
pledge drive and other events to offset part of the balance. Last year
workcampers were required to pay an additional $110 after fundraising. Also, if you elect not to go to work camp within 60
days prior to the start date, you will be responsible for the entire $399 provided the
spot is not filled by another youth.
